Membership of UNISON offers you protection at ARU. Quite simply, you are better off in a trade union. It is a proven fact that a unionised workplace has better terms and conditions than comparable non-unionised ones.
UNISON is the only recognised trade union here at Anglia Ruskin University for Professional Services staff, which means that ARU Management have to negotiate with us over terms and conditions relating to all Professional Staff employment.
As well as all the benefits this negotiation brings, we also have trained stewards who will accompany and represent our members in meetings relating to employment such as disciplinary hearings, meetings associated with contractual changes or redundancy.
We also support our members throughout any grievance or sickness absence procedures and advise on legal or health and safety matters.
All this advice and assistance is backed up by our Regional and National network of trained and qualified professionals.
